A little over halfway through with 2021 and I’m writing this so I can look back at thoughts/feelings experienced during this nth wave of the pandemic. While I’m still very nonchalant about this entire ordeal, I am being a bit more cautious as these new variants are contagious even to people who are vaccinated. Currently we have the Delta, Delta Plus, and the Lambda variants. Curious to see how this shapes the future of America for the next few generations.
It’s been a while since I’ve had to write a blog post but while we’re doing that, here are some life updates. My back pain is still present from a car accident on June 28th, 2019. The pain hovers at a constant 5 out of 10. Recently there’s been a spike in pain causing it to flare up to an 8 at times. Muscle relaxers & anti-inflammatories help, if the pain gets bad enough I do have tramadol which I try my hardest to avoid. I am still avoiding pain medicine as I do not want to be an opioid statistic in America.
Athena starts school in the next two weeks and I’m hoping a lot of the kids do not take after their parents in the sense of ignorance towards modern medicine, politics, and race. Nonetheless I am overflowing with the excitement of that little girl learning and being able to be present with her as she works through the beginning of her school years. I feel like Ariel, Brittney, The Kissinger’s, Montalvo’s, and Shawn have done an amazing job at making her a strong independent young woman to the point where I’m not worried about her getting bullied. Athena’s ability to vocalize her frustrations has come a long way and I think we all do a good job at listening and reasoning with her at times.
Last but not least, as hinted in the last paragraph there is a new name not many of you have seen in previous iterations of my blog posts. Brittney! She is my better half and such a great role model for Athena. We are coming up on our one year anniversary and I am looking forward to where the future leads.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this post. I know it’s been a minute but hopefully it won’t go on longer.
